Doborobo is one of those Youkai that emerged when someone interfere or trespassed his territory. While I get that the folks are developing the land for solar panels (& obviously their fault for making provocations to him) the blame should also be put on Doborobo since he's the one who killed that boy's dad after an escalation with Kitaro ensued 30 years ago.
Of course that boy will grown into man & filled with vengeance seeking to avenge his father. Anyone would do that if they were to be in that situation
